Masterclass Angeli Macfarlane

Short films and Finding your Audience

Short films have found a life of their own online - this has created a true renaissance in short film making and it is also having an effect on the kinds of films that do well and how they are promoted, which in turn can significantly help the career of the filmmakers. In her session Angeli Macfarlane will look at how best to consider both your own goals as filmmakers and the relationship with audience when considering how to create a successful short film. The session will address issues of subject matter, length, universality, visual language and the very elusive goal of finding your own voice.

Angeli Macfarlane (Director of Script Cube and Development Producer at Film London) worked as a scriptwriter for several international award-winning productions and teaches screenwriting at the UK's National Film & Television School. She is on the jury for the BAFTA awards and is a globally sought-after expert on scenario development.
