So much variation in the European Competition this year! In addition to films from classic short film countries such as France and Germany, films from smaller film countries such as Macedonia, Croatia and Ukraine are also competing for in the Best European Short Film Award 2017. There are many styles and genres: classical dramas, an action musical, a mockumentary and an erotic thriller.
In this category we hand out the Jury Award and the Audience Award. The winner of the Jury Award will be on the longlist for the Academy Award 2019. In addition, one film in the competition, including the Flemish competitions, will be nominated by the jury for the European Film Awards.
