Artist in Focus: Fien Troch
Only last year, Fien Troch (Holly, Home, Kid, Unspoken) competed in the main competition of the Venice Film Festival, where lead actress Cathalina Geeraerts won an award; a fine addition to Troch's extensive record of achievements. A quarter of a century earlier, she racked up one of her very first prizes ever at Kortfilmfestival Leuven, when she was awarded the Jury Prize for best Flemish fiction film in 1999 for her short film WOOWW. This film, along with other films, can be seen in a focus programme dedicated to the grande dame of Belgian cinema. Since her start at the festival formerly known as Leuven Kort, she has received national and international praise for her completely unique voice in the film landscape.

Master Talk: Fien Troch
As Artist in Focus, Fien Troch will give a master talk at the festival. Along with film journalist Ruben Nollet, she will look back on her first short films. How did she go from Burned Earth and Wooww to full-length feature films like Home or Holly? A career that spans almost the entire festival history, there really is a lot to tell.
