Masterclass: Douwe Dijkstra
Douwe Dijkstra mixes video and animation with visual effects; and humour with social engagement. In his masterclass, he explores the tension between the rigid planning and framework of the film industry and funding on the one hand, and an investigative, experimental way of film making on the other. Using excerpts from his own films, he addresses themes such as the illusion of control and serendipity – and the wonderful moment when a film seems to decide to make itself.
The masterclass will be held in English.
