For years now, Leuven International Short Film Festival has also been an important player outside of Belgium. After all, the festival helps to decide which short films are longlisted for the Oscars, the BAFTAs and the European Film Awards. Each year, the film festival receives an enormous amount of submissions for the European Competition. Out of over 1500 entries, six programmes were filtered with films from no less than 23 European countries. In this competition, each film competes for two important prizes: the Jury Prize and the Audience Prize. Yes, you too get to decide which film gets to be called the Best European Film and will be acquired by Dalton Distribution.
