Many female directors have won awards with their short films in the recent years, as the compilation Women for the Win shows. And yet the film world remains mainly a male bastion. For example, the step from thesis to the next short film turns out to be much larger for women, just like the step from a short film to a full-length film. In addition, the relationship between directors and producers is sometimes a tricky issue.
