No, ‘Frogs in the bathroom’, ‘Frankie becomes a planet’ and ‘Mister Cucumber departs on a journey’ aren’t Beatles lyrics, but brief summaries of some short films in the Flemish Animation Competition. No lack of imagination, clearly. On a visual level, this line-up is more than satisfying as well. The analogue trend of the previous edition continues this year: the Flemish Animation Competition is a colourful mix of 2D, stop-motion, hand drawn films and occasional 3D work.
