Militant Cinema

Militant Cinema combines the anthology film From Ground Zero and the programme Reclaiming Archives, a collaboration with Kortfilm.be. From Ground Zero is a mix of fiction, documentary and animation and shows the perspectives of various filmmakers on the current reality in Gaza. Reclaiming Archives, on the other hand, uses archival material as cinematic resistance. In both programmes, filmmakers demand to be heard and refuse to be forgotten.

All ticket proceeds from From Ground Zero and Reclaiming Archives will go to the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS). That is an independent Palestinian organisation that provides humanitarian aid, healthcare and social services to Palestinians in Palestine and the Palestinian diaspora.

Reclaiming Archives

Reclaiming Archives compile short films by makers with roots in Iran, Syria, Iraq and Palestine. Political-historical images, Google Maps and Palestinian flowers become devices for resistance in film. How a handshake between world leaders destroys countless lives and a manipulated video of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei drafts an alternative reality: filmmakers rewrite their history, and claim a different future.
