In Mosul, Nawal cares for her ailing mother, who is deteriorating since medicine is no longer available. In the few days they have left together, Nawal, her mother and their neighbour share small moments of joy. They sing and dance, they use make-up and make scents, they tell jokes and laugh too hard. In the midst of all the ugliness, they manage to create beauty.
