European Competition
The European Competition is not easy to describe. Liveaction fiction, animation and documentary alternate in an exciting mix of international film talent. From more than 3,000 entries, seven programmes remained. The winner of this category immediately makes it to the longlist of the Oscars, the European Film Awards and for British candidates: the BAFTAs. Equally important: viewers also vote for the audience award.
